flown by but we looked forward to the last day of VBS being the best day. We weren't sure if the strikes were still on or not but as the kids came streaming in we ended up having more kids than we had had all week. The last lesson was John the Baptist and the snack was graham crackers and honey. Well as I alluded to the roasting marshmallows earlier we ensured we had plenty of graham crackers for another project you'll have to keep reading to hear about!! It was sad knowing that this would probably be the last time
that we would see these kids. Me and Jenn had really become attached to "our girls" and Yancey seemed to have become attached to some of the boys. There are so many cool stories and fun we had with the girls. After the VBS was over and we tore down the decorations and packed up we went to our last luncheon at the Escola da Biblia and then we had talked Danny and Lee to taking us to Olinda where we had heard there was this amazing overlook of the city. Here is a communication story for you - Lee speaks a little bit a very little bit at that of English and Danny speaks a little bit and a very lit bit at that of Portuguese (oh and by the way they are engaged) but anyway on the way to Olinda Lee got 
a call from a family member and told us her aunt who she was close to was sick. We expressed our concern and wished her that her aunt would get better and continued on our drive to Olinda in the dreary weather starting up other subjects. On a side note we had amazing weather the whole time we were in Brasil considering this is their raining season and there is hardly a day when it does not rain all day and it mostly only rained on us at night - well except for today when we are going for a view lookout. Anyway, we got through this really cool neighborhood up cobble stone steps up a really steep hill to this church where we enjoyed an amazing view of Olinda and Recife. Then we came back down and were going in and out of the shops when we ran into Randy (the kind of head American missionary). Come to find out Randy had come to give Danny and Lee his car and he was going to drive us back to Recife because Lee's aunt had actually died. Apparently Lee had told us this in the car but we misunderstood her!! They had to go immediately because her family lived several hours away and in Brasil they don't embalm so they have to have the funeral and burial within 24 hours. Just shows you how language and culture are so imporatant in communication.

They tried to get me to try it but believe me that is one thing I think I can go my whole life without trying and I thought I put ketchup on everything.

Anyway, we were headed to the LST party which had a western theme to it and as it was pouring down rain Randy who was driving did not see a big gulf of a whole in the road and we hit it hard with the right side of both the front and back tire. Soon we heard a hisssssss and then a thuthump thuthump duthump. Yep we had a flat tire and not just one but two (and we weren't the only car that had hit the hole). Not only did we have a flat but the rims were bent. Daniel came and picked us up and we entered the party late even for Brasil time. Jenn and Yancey and I went to cook up our smores (the project) and we had dominoes and yahtzee and they seemed to have so much fun. I was ecstatic because Ana and Pricilla were ther
e again and we had thought we would not get to see them again. We really had a great time of fun and bonding on our last night with our new friends. We then headed to our last night at the Pousada to pack and get ready to get up at 3 AM for the beginning of our trip home which will have to be a whole another blog entry!!!
